Our Story

Early in his career Steven Battey embarked on a musical journey by singing at the pier on River Street down in his hometown of Savannah, GA. His inspiration and love for music was instilled in him early from his mother, Jackie Battey. Devasted by the death of his father in 2003, tragedy lurked around the corner when his mother, Jackie passed the following year. The loss of his parents influenced and motivated him to leave Savannah, GA and pursue music on a permanent basis.

Fast forward to the present:  Steven Battey has written for some of the biggest artists in the world such as (Justin Bieber, Madonna, Flo-Rida, Bruno Mars, etc.) He has been Grammy nominated 4 times and won his first Grammy in 2011.

In the beginning of 2016, Steven met his SFS co-founder and partner, Alix Petersen.  They found that they had similar backgrounds and experiences that shaped their passions to make a difference in children’s lives.  Alix is well-respected in her field in the healthcare industry for her leadership and team building skills. Together, they work to empower children with disabilities and illnesses through music so that those children feel that their lives matter to us all.
